Our New Location | There’s a new photographer in town

We are so exited to be sharing this with all of you.  We have finally found a new place to call home (well at least our photo home).  It is located in downtown Campbell on a block I swear is the littlest western town in the west.  The charm of this old saloon just screamed fun at me and I couldn’t resist the gracious offer given to me by Deanna Graham to share her photography haven.  I just thought I would give you a sneak peak. I’ve hardly moved in but I have a couple of prints up and a key. You have to start somewhere right?  Many new things are in store for this wonderful space and who knows what it will resemble in the next month or two.  I am above thrilled on this new adventure and can’t wait to open it’s doors and welcome you in.  In fact, I hope you’ll be able to belly up to the bar for a Sarsaparillo and a good chat soon.  I’ll keep you posted so stay tuned for updates.

Our new address is 145 Dillon #A in Campbell, CA

*disclaimer dancing girls, card games, and shoot outs will cost extra :)

Cherry Blossom Wedding Inspiration featured on Style Unveiled

The Cherry Blossom shoot has been a project that I’ve wanted to do for quite some time. It has also been a huge lesson in patience.  Last year we missed them,  so when my good friend Ingrid Marayag called and said let’s do the shoot I was all for it.  We started planning it and I was so excited that so many talented wedding vendors in the business wanted to jump on board.  For months, we collaborated and waited on Mother Nature.  God Bless Ingrid because she drove by the fields everyday to check on the blooms. I had to laugh because by about week two Ingrid’s children could be heard in the car “Again!” as she drove by.  Everyday or two I waited for the update, and the photo text of what stage they field was in.  I felt like a doctor waiting to deliver a baby.  With such a small window where the blooms look great we held our breath as vendors traveled out of town and the rain kept falling.  Because of rain and waiting for the ground to dry out a little bit we missed full bloom by a couple of days but it didn’t matter we were all so excited about beautiful the images that came out of our months of waiting.  This session was a true labor of love and we couldn’t of  been more thrilled when the wedding blog Style Unveiled decided to run it.  The best part was how excited they were.  To see their post and more of the photos please click here on Cherry Bloom Wedding Inspiration

Cherry Blossom Wedding Inspiration behind the scenes| Featuring Luke Goodman Cinematography

A little sneak peak about what goes on behind the scenes of a photo shoot or even a wedding that many people don’t see.  Wedding Vendors work hard to make your day beautiful!  This is why it is so important to have an “A” team of vendors for your wedding day. I recommend of these guys to make your day run smoothly.  We had such a great time doing this shoot and special thanks to Luke of Luke Goodman Cinematography for filming it for us. The list of these vendors are on the post above and many our listed at the end of the film. Enjoy!

Flamingo’s Food Drive and Mixer was a success

Thanks to so many of you who helped make Flamingo’s Food Drive for the Second Harvest Food Bank a success. Fun was held by all as we enjoyed a fantastic summer night and raised enough funds and food to help feed about 800 children in Santa Clara County and surrounding areas. Great music was supplied by Ron Grandia, A Different Kind of DJ, and dessert was by by Rachel Myers of Sweet Tooth Confections. I think her Red Velvet pops were devoured before I even knew they were there. Potluck was so much fun as we learned who likes to cook, who doesn’t, and well who was just lazy like me and brought Bucca’s :) . Bounce house, three legged races, and the sack race were just a few of the things that had people literally laughing on the ground. Meeting everyone’s spouses, kids, and dogs was so enjoyable. Many of us read about them all the time on blogs or facebook but great to meet them in person. I’m so blessed to have such great and FUN friends in the industry who knows how life is supposed to be enjoyed. People are already requesting we do it again next year. What do you think?

Flamingo’s Food Drive Fundraiser and Potluck Mixer| Second Harvest Food Bank San Jose

partyflamingo12 There are 120,524 children in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties who are at risk for experiencing hunger during the summer months.  Summer is the season of childhood hunger.   The Share Your Lunch campaign is committed to collecting food and raising funds that will be used to feed children during the summer months when they do not receive free or reduced-price meals at school.  The need is great.  The Summer of 2010 will be one of the most difficult seasons for local families to endure. Second Harvest is partnering with the community to help stave off hunger for thousands of children who don’t know where their next meal will come from.  Statistics along from summer of 2008 to summer of 2009  increased by 30% for the demand on the local food bank.   To meet the increased need, the Share Your Lunch campaign has a fund raising goal of $1 million and collection goal of 100,000 pounds of food. Reaching these goals will provide food to approximately 85,000 children each month this summer.

Flamingo and I will be hosting “Flamingos Family Food Drive and Potluck Mixer” along with some other talented and giving individuals in the wedding community.  The event will be on June 22 at Edith Morley Park in Campbell.  This will be a very laid back and family fun mixer with some of the greatest people in the wedding industry.  A potluck dinner/picnic and a lot of activites for adults and kids.  Yes, I said kids! We encourage you to bring your families and  your dogs as long as they are on their leash.  In fact, dress your dog up for the “hottest dog” contest.  It’s a picnic you have to have HOT DOGs.  They can literally be dressed up as hotdogs or as HOT DOGS your choice.
