Cherry Blossom Wedding Inspiration featured on Style Unveiled

The Cherry Blossom shoot has been a project that I’ve wanted to do for quite some time. It has also been a huge lesson in patience.  Last year we missed them,  so when my good friend Ingrid Marayag called and said let’s do the shoot I was all for it.  We started planning it and I was so excited that so many talented wedding vendors in the business wanted to jump on board.  For months, we collaborated and waited on Mother Nature.  God Bless Ingrid because she drove by the fields everyday to check on the blooms. I had to laugh because by about week two Ingrid’s children could be heard in the car “Again!” as she drove by.  Everyday or two I waited for the update, and the photo text of what stage they field was in.  I felt like a doctor waiting to deliver a baby.  With such a small window where the blooms look great we held our breath as vendors traveled out of town and the rain kept falling.  Because of rain and waiting for the ground to dry out a little bit we missed full bloom by a couple of days but it didn’t matter we were all so excited about beautiful the images that came out of our months of waiting.  This session was a true labor of love and we couldn’t of  been more thrilled when the wedding blog Style Unveiled decided to run it.  The best part was how excited they were.  To see their post and more of the photos please click here on Cherry Bloom Wedding Inspiration

Una Bella Sera A Beautiful Evening| Craneway Pavilion| Amazae Special Events| Nicole Ha Designs| SF Bay Area

Congratulations on the third year for  “Una Bella Sera 2010″.  This event is one of the highlights of  the year and its creators Crystal Lequang from Amaze Special Events and Nicole Ha of Nicole Ha Designs did a beautiful job transforming the Craneway Pavilion.  The Craneway Pavilion is a beautiful open space with natural light pouring in from all directions.  Located in the Marina District of Richmond it has an amazing view of the bay with its water front location.   If your looking for a location for your wedding or reception this place is breathtaking.

I love participating in this event and it is always such a great time with wonderful vendors.  To see everyone that helped create this event please click here. The photos below were taken by friend Tanja Lippert and me.  The dress featured is from Priscilla of Boston in Santana Row and you can see all the wonderful windows at this location.  My favorite room was the colorful, fruit and veggie room.  From the amazing centerpiece with it’s whimsical design to the veggie art on the wall by Thomas John Events (one of my favorite caterers). I really loved the fun and creativity of this room.  I also had the honor of meeting Mr. Shin of Michi Sushi in Campbell, California.  He is quite the character as you can tell from his photo with Flamingo.  He caught the bird stealing some of his display. :)    But if you love sushi you should try his.  If you don’t like sushi try his.  I’m not a fan of sushi but his could make you change your mind. It was really delicious and you can tell they take the time to create an experience with their food.  Plus, how can you not love his presentation.  The caterpillar was adorable.

Thanks again to Crystal and Nicole for inviting me to participate. I hope that some of their creations inspire you.  If you have an event/wedding  you would like to throw contact these girls or any of the wonderful vendors listed to help make your dream happen.  Even if you don’t know what you want, they can help create a dream you didn’t even know you had.

Wish Upon a Wedding “National Raise Awareness Week”

Just wanted to share a little bit with you about a great organization that has just started up here in the bay area.  It is called Wish Upon a Wedding.  Starting on Monday is National Raise Awareness week for the organziation. The purpose of Wish Upon a Wedding is to produce weddings and civil union ceremonies at destinations across the USA for terminally ill individuals, regardless of sexual orientation. Below is the first recipient’s story and her wedding is only a few days away. With twenty chapters across the nation, we are ready to begin making dreams come true.  To find out more about them and ways you might be able to help you can find them on the web, facebook, and twitter.

In 2002, Florence had moved from Oklahoma City to be with her mother in the San Francisco Bay Area. After moving there, she decided to stay.

A few years later, in 2006 Florence was on her way to a birthday party, to hang out with her girlfriends. As usual, she waited for the Route 93 Bus. That evening, Michael the bus driver noticed Florence and began a conversation with her. Route 93 was his regular route, and Florence and Michael began to see more and more of each other.

He asked for her phone number, and eventually called her. After playing hard to get, Florence finally decided to answer the phone. For their first date, Michael asked Florence out to dinner in San Francisco. They ate dinner by the wharf, watching the boats come in and out of the bay, and they began to fall in love.

Michael told Florence he’d found his other half and wanted to be her husband.

When Florence was diagnosed with cancer, she worried Michael might leave. But he was always there for her, supporting her throughout the entire experience, including a double mastectomy.

Michael proposed to Florence by saying “I want to make you my wife” and “make our family official”. He let her know that no matter what happens, he loves her and wants to be with her unconditionally.

Florence and Michael | Wish Upon a Wedding Wish Recipient

Wish Upon a Wedding is proud to grant Florence and Michael their wish of a very special wedding, set to take place on March 13, 2010.
