Like I mentioned earlier we had a fantastic time and here are just some of the behind the scenes stuff.  Andrew Hsu of MSV Studios hung out with us crazy girls for the week and was an intricate team member. He did a fantastic job on all the videos for the presentation.  To see some of them about Dork energy check out his blog.  These were just funny silly stuff and if he can make this look good then you know he can do it all.   He does amazing work so if your looking for a videographer check out his website.  You’ll love working with him

Andrews Hsu of MSV Studio’s Video Recap of WPPI!  Click here for some behind the scenes fun and to watch the video.

Andrew was just one of the amazing sponsors we had for this talk.  Besides Andrew the main sponsors were Richard’s Photo lab and YWD Magazine.  A special thank you to Richards because they really encouraged Tanja to do this.  YWD provided beautiful magazines for everyone attending the talk.  Plus, we had some wonderful give aways from some very special companies!  Special thanks to:  Big Folio, Gigbooks, Gross National Product, Carlos Baez “Seeing the Light”, Fast Track Photographer, Fuji Film, and Waxworks.  In fact here I am with Leah the super talented artist behind waxworks.(We’re in the right hand corner of the collage).   I’ll be talking about them later. :)

Tanja Lippert Photographers get Dorked at WPPI 2009 at the MGM Grand

For some of you your wondering what is WPPI?  Well it stands for Wedding and Portrait Photographers International. WPPI  along with Rangefinder Magazine sponsor one of the largest conferences for photographers world wide.  In fact, I think it is the largest.  This year the conference changed venues from Baley’s and Paris to the MGM Grand.  This place was huge and I laughed how it felt like we were staying in the city of OZ.  From the photo you can see why we felt like Dorothy, the tin man, the lion, and the scarecrow.  (Flamingo played the role of Toto.)

I love this conference because it is just a great time to meet up with photography friends from all over the country (and world) and to find out the latest and greatest new  things in the industry.  I head out on a treasure hunt every year to find that awesome product for my clients or that one little tidbit that just helps  me or my business improve or just to inspire.  This year was a little different since I helped my good friend and team member Tanja do her speech on “Dork Energy”.  We were the ones doing the inspiring and we had a blast.  The talk went great and we had such a great team of people who helped pull it all together.  The main four of us was Tanja, Tia, Andrew Hsu, and me but one of the greatest things was how many of our local photographers group (aka pug) and some extras came and acted like dorks with us.  We were so incredibly touched by the outpouring of support.  They went above and beyond and that is why we love them so much.  They are the best!

New Blog Design is up and running

posted in Uncategorized on Friday 13 February 2009 at 10:02 pm

I am so excited that the new blog is up and running.  We are working out a few kinks yet but for the most part it is up and running.   I love the new design courtesy of many friends.  Ken Leslie, the man behind the working elements, Jeremy Hohengarten my assistant extraordanaire, and Tia Reagan the fabulous stylist.  (Tia also pulled out her photographic skills and photographed the photos of me with my boys and hubby.)  Love them!  And yes we did drag the couch out in to the field.  What was fun is the family shoot above was just for me.  It just happen to work out great for the new header of the blog.

So what’s new about the blog?  Well let me tell you because I think it really has some fun features.

One of my favorite things about this new blog is that YOU can participate so easy and in some fun ways.  YOU get to vote on what blog posts You love.  What you like hearing about, seeing , and whatever else you might stop by for.  Your votes pick the favorites category.  Second, I love when you leave comments.  Let me know what you think.  Answer some of the questions I wonder about.  I want to get to know you as much as your learning about me.  Third, On some of the post you can click on the photos to see them larger.  I know there is so many other cool things but those are some of my favorites. Plus it is so easy to subsribe to the post.  Just click on subscribe here on the top right and it will automatically tell you when I have something new posted.  Have a look around and I’m so glad you stopped by.

Here’s more of our family shoot.  This collage was made for my mother in law by Simply Canvas.

Lauren and Cory’s engagement session

posted in Engagements on Tuesday 3 February 2009 at 5:31 pm

I had the best time getting to know Lauren and Cory on their engagement session.  They are so full of life and fun to photograph that I can’t wait for their big day coming up at the end of the month.  Look at their smiles they just light up their faces.  I love both their romantic and serious side but I love how you can almost hear them laughing in their fun shots. The shot below in the alley makes me feel like I just stepped in to East Side Story.  So glad the Jets weren’t there to defend their turf.  Once again hair and make-up done by the fabulous Tia Reagan.
