One extra day

Well, they said it wouldn’t happen but it did.  We couldn’t get out of Tahoe yesterday.  So, after 4 hours of trying to leave and never making it to Meyers we headed back.  I’m so glad we did because they closed the highway shortly after we decided to turn around.  Today was much nicer since our  favorite route along the 88 was open again.  The bummer was there was 4feet of new powder at Kirkwood and we couldn’t stay to play.  All of us including the kids had obligation to get back to. Here are a couple of shots on our way home.  I wasn’t lying there was a bunch of snow.  Right now I’m heading off for a 4 hour seminar with some of the best known photographers in the industry.  I hope I’m inspired and find some great new things for you guys!snow1snow2

Snowing in Genoa

It has been an amazing two weeks, and I’m so excited to share some of the things with you. The kids were on break and we decided to spend a couple of good family days together. Right now I am out of town in Genoa, NV which is right outside Lake Tahoe. It has been a beautiful couple of days here. In fact, at this very moment I’m sitting by a fire watching big flakes of snow fall from the sky. We didn’t go up to Kirkwood today because of all the snow advisories and we didn’t want us to get stranded up there. Now we are hopeing it will clear by morning so that we’ll be able to make it back to San Jose.

As many of you know this is the year we took up snowboarding. We had a great day yesterday. There was so much powder. I’ve never skiied or snowboarded in so much fluff. What was great was that it gave me a chance to overcome some of my fears since falling was like landing on big piles of fluff. It was crazy, I’ve never experienced such a feeling of floating. Some people said it was similar to the feeling you have when you surf. It was awesome. Not sure If I’ll make it to the hills one more time this season but we are keeping our fingers crossed.

Eyelash extension

Ok I never heard of this but thought I would try it.  I have tiny little eyelashes and always wanted long ones.  This was so fun and I’m going to try them out the next couple of weeks.  If these work I would suggest getting them done for your wedding.  You don’t have to wear mascara and they are suppose to last 2-6 weeks depending on how you care for them.  I did no retouching on any of these and I’m not wearing make up in either photograph.  I’m sure you can tell. :)  But you can get them made shorter, longer, thicker, thinner.  They have been really fun.  Monica Rivera at Mira Bella Salon in San Jose did them.  Her number is 408-251-1700.

Phase one of our new backyard started last week.  This is some of the pictures of what I woke up too last week.  We had a backhoe and a bobcat in the backyard knocking down our workshop.  It is loud but very exciting.  I’m looking forward to getting it done.

A Praise

I just needed to write this because I know so many of you know the story of my friend who has been battling a rare breast cancer called inflammatory breast cancer. We found out just over three years ago that she was diagnosed and was told that many people don’t make it past 18 months.  Well, praise God because she has responded really well to her therapy and nothing has come back.  The problem with this type of cancer is that if it comes back it mutates and therapies don’t work on it.  We are so glad that at her 3 year check up there is no sign.  She is an example of a living miracle.
