Destination Wedding Puerta Vallarta, Mexico

Blogged under Uncategorized by jill on Tuesday 24 July 2007 at 10:53 pm

0001Last month I had the privelage of being able to photograph the wedding of Amirah and Eric down in Puerta Vallarta. It is a great Mexican town with lots of charm, history, and character.  It was a great time as I was able to spend a couple of days with their friends and family.  The wedding was held at a resort called Dreams just North of downtown Puerta Vallarta.  It was a late wedding and we started to run out of light due to the clouds that rolled in earlier in the day but,  everyone just went with the flow.  It was a sweet ceremony with a lot of emotion.  These two were excited about getting married.  The reception was even held on the beach with an after party in one of the clubs at the resort.

One thing that made their wedding unique was what they did the morning of the wedding.  The entire wedding party and some of the guest went on a Canopy and Repelling tour.  It was so much fun.  We started the trip by riding in a huge military style truck and headed in to the jungle.  When we got their we were sized for equipment and put it on.  Next, we were assigned a mule. Yes, a mule to ride up the mountain for about 15 minutes.  Then we sailed through the jungle on these ziplines.  My favorite part was repelling down the waterfall.  I’d never had the oppurtunity to try it.  I thought how fun and who can say that they flew through the jungle and repelled on their wedding day.  Maybe Jane and Tarzan but now so can Amirah and Eric.

The first slideshow is of the morning and the second one is the wedding.  Enjoy and hold on.

I just love the emotion in this picture.  Amirah’s mother is holding her dress while she embraces her new mother-in-law.  I love how eveyone is watching including Eric.

Brian and Tracy’s San Francisco Session

Blogged under Uncategorized by jill on Tuesday 24 July 2007 at 10:09 pm

Brian and Tracy asked to do something a little different.  They knew that on their wedding day that they wouldn’t have time to take photos at all the places they loved in San Francisco.  So, instead of an engagement shoot we did a little pre wedding shoot.  It was fun.  A little mini fashion session.  Tracy had arranged for her dad to drive us around so we wouldn’t have to worry about parking.  It made the day go so much easier and we were able to go to a lot of different locations.  I’ve lived in the bay area for almost 6 years and they took me to places I had never visited.  Her dad was filling me on the different areas, its history, and places to try and eat at when I’m in those parts of town.  It was a great day.  Here’s a sneak at their day.

Jill and Greg’s wedding at the Adobe Lodge

Blogged under Uncategorized by jill on Tuesday 24 July 2007 at 10:02 pm

I’ve done quite a few events at the Adobe Lodge but never a ceremony til Jill and Greg’s.  It was a great place for a small intimate wedding and the weather was just beautiful.  I’ll try and post more on who were their vendors etc.  I had to admit her details and flowers were just fantastic. I just love peonies and they are starting to show up at more and more weddings. Check out their show

In the meantime, I hope to get up some other events soon.

Had a great time the other night with Casey and Janelle at De Anza college.  I had to admit I was really surprised when they picked their location.  I wasn’t sure what we were going to get on the campus but, we came up with some really fun stuff.  Check out their show.

Lauren and Brendan ended up with a beautiful day.  The Ceremony was held at the Mission Santa Clara.  It was great and the groom even had a song written for his bride.  It was fantastic.  Then they were off to the Half Moon Ritz and the weather couldn’t of been any better.  It was a great evening for the cocktail hour and the reception was full of a ton of personal touches.  Brendan is a lacrosse coach and they had lacrosse rackets on the cake.  There was also a bagpiper to bring them in to the reception which is one of my favorite shots of the day, plus they had an Irish Dancer.  The band they picked was also great.  They really worked the crowd.
